Promise Road Elementary K-12 Food Rescue

​Food rescue is about helping people out if they are in need of food. What we do is we save all of the food that people don’t eat in the cafeteria and they put it in the fridge or in the pantry. The sustainability group of Panther Ambassadors goes and counts it all. Then volunteers take it to a local church and then the church gives the food to people in need.

Food Rescue is important because so much food goes to waste every day, some people don’t have as much food as we do. A lot of people take food for granted and throw away all of the extra food. This was an issue until food rescue came along. Food rescue is made to help people who don’t have food. As a food rescue members, we know that we have food rescue at our school because we are a good school. This club has helped us learn how much food gets thrown away each day.

What is Food Rescue?

Food rescue is when people save the package food that they didn’t eat. Then we count it and package it up then we send it to people who need it.

Why is food rescue important?
Food rescue helps people that don’t have money for food. In Promise Road Elementary, we work together and make sure everyone gets food.
