Students like Brock Minard are making their voices heard about the insanity of an estimated 1 billion unopened and unpeeled food items thrown into a landfill each year while 1 in 6 Americans are food insecure. We think students like Brock making their voices heard could actually reverse this shameful practice, and even allow us to become world leaders on this issue. We have learned from many of our mistakes in America, and we have become stronger. All that is required moving forward is to fix this mistake with a simple solution.
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"
If massive food waste is not evil, the thankless, selfish, and unappreciative spirit it fosters definitely is, and our children are the victims in the big picture.
Could 5,000 student videos be the catalyst for 1 billion unopened and unpeeled food items in America to be kept from landfills, and redirected toward hunger relief? Hard to say, but hats off to a good man like Brock doing "something" instead of "nothing" by posting a short video.
If you are willing to be a part of our student campaign, make a short cell phone video, post it on Youtube, and send us a link and we will include it on our Student Video Page.
