Zero Waste Cafeterias, K-12 Food Rescue, & Earth Charter IN

A number of year ago, Jim Poyser, founder of Earth Charter Indiana asked me to do an Interview for Farm Indiana, and later Nuvo Magazine, and we began to collaborate and touch base from time to time.   When Food Rescue was invited to speak to the World Wildlife Fund Kroger Grant recipients in late 2018, we thought Jim and Earth Charter Indiana would be a perfect fit for the Kroger/WWF food waste audit project, as Jim and ECI were already doing a lot of work the greater Indianapolis area on the subject of Zero Waste cafeterias. The WWF agreed, and ECI and FR were both presented in Washington D.C.

One of our Food Rescue schools, Noblesvile Crossing, thanks to Jim, Natasha Tarboxj, and Teri Park (4th grade Teachers), Noblesville Crossing began to pursue the Zero Waste cafeteria project, and even boldly began to pursue becoming a zero waste school.  This effort started with a 4th grade project to present that Jim and I were invited to attend on behalf of FR and ECI.  Below is the email we received, and the photo's of the entire 4th grad presentation.  

Hi there!

I am reaching out because you have been such an instrumental part of Noble Crossing's big effort in the research portion of turning our school's cafeteria into a zero waste cafeteria.  The students are going to be presenting their research to various Noble Crossing administrators on Friday, December 14 from 2-2:30 in our library and we would love it if you were able to come. Thank you again for all you have done to support the learning of our amazing students in this project!
